The Kingsbridge Armory Redevelopment Alliance (KARA) is a coalition of community groups, congregations and unions seeking high-road, equitable development for the Kingsbridge Armory.* The alliance wants the taxpayer-subsidized redevelopment plan to meet the community’s needs for living wage union jobs, community space, recreation facilities and schools.
Call, email, or fax your City Council member, to let them know that as people who live, work, worship, or go to school in their district you urge them to only approve the Armory development if the developer, Related Companies, signs a Community Benefits Agreement that guarantees a living wage ($10/hour) for all retail workers in the development.
Sample Message

I am calling to ask that you only approve Related's plan for the Kingsbridge Armory IF they sign a Community Benefits Agreement that guarantees that all the Retail jobs in the project will pay Bronx residents a Living wage of at least $10 an hour.
The Bronx needs living wage jobs because....... (best to tell a story based on your own personal experience)
We know Related does not want to agree to a living wage but I don't buy their arguments because ..............(use any of the talking points below)
Will You commit to only vote for the project if Related agrees to a CBA with a guarenteed living wage? (Try to get a YES or NO answer from them)
