Here in Indianapolis we have seen clergy go to bat for janitors seeking higher wages from employers in Downtown office buildings.
Now, there is a national movement involving faith leaders from 11 denominations that this weekend and next will promote their goal of $10 an hour minimum wage by 2010.
The coalition includes national organizations representing Reform Jewish, the United Methodist Church and Disciples of Christ among many others.
Let Justice Roll, which is what the campaign is called, estimates that it would take a $10 an hour would have the same buying power of the 1968 minimum wage.
